Tell Congress: Low-Income People on Medicare Deserve Greater Security

Funding for the Medicare Qualified Individual (QI) program will end on March 31 unless Congress takes action. QI pays Medicare Part B premiums for beneficiaries with incomes of about $13,700 – $15,500 per year.
If Congress fails to make QI permanent, low-income seniors in the program could be forced to drop the Part B benefit and lose access to their doctors, or pay over $1,200 in new, additional premiums. A senior with just $14,000 income would only have $9,000 left for all their other living expenses!
Tell Congress to make the QI program permanent as part of the Medicare physician payment reform package.
